Syrencot Wedding Photographer

Candid, Natural Photography in Wiltshire

Planning your wedding at Syrencot in Figheldean, near Sailsbury? Set within five acres of Wiltshire countryside, this venue seamlessly blends classic 18th-century Georgian architecture with light-filled, contemporary spaces. From the restored main house to the Glasshouse and modern Farmshed, it offers a effortless flow that makes documentary wedding photography (the type of wedding photography I specialise in!) a joy.

My approach at Syrencot is completely relaxed and unobtrusive. I focus on capturing genuine moments, natural laughter, and real emotion as your day unfolds, which lets you enjoy every second with your guests and without feeling like you are on a continuous photoshoot.

Morning Preparation in Syrencot House

Morning preparation takes place inside the main Georgian house (mainly in the spacious Billiard Room). The high ceilings and large sash windows fill the space with soft, natural light which is ideal for capturing those quiet, anticipatory moments, candid laughs with your wedding party, and final adjustments before it’s time to walk down the aisle!

I keep my presence light and calm during your prep, stepping back so you can relax and focus on getting ready.

Ceremonies in The Glasshouse

Set within the secluded Walled Garden, The Glasshouse is a truly distinct ceremony setting. Reconstructed from a historic Victorian structure, its floor-to-ceiling glass wrapping floods the entire room with incredible natural light from every angle.

From a photographer’s perspective, this light is a dream and allows for clean, crisp images without the need for intrusive flash. Whether you exchange vows surrounded by summer blooms or under soft winter light, I work discreetly around the perimeter to document your vows, ring exchanges, and guests' authentic reactions without drawing attention away from the ceremony.

Drinks in the Courtyard & Reception in The Farmshed

Following the ceremony, celebrations move naturally into the Walled Garden and paved courtyard terrace. This outdoor space is ideal for drinks, canapés, and capturing unposed, candid moments of your friends and family mingling in the sun.

When it’s time for the wedding breakfast and evening party, guests move into The Farmshed. This contemporary, spacious, glass-wrapped barn pairs rustic timber accents with high ceilings and clean, modern lines.

  • Candid Reception Coverage: The wide layout and generous glass walls allow me to move quietly around the tables during speeches to capture real reactions without blocking anyone's view.

  • Evening Atmosphere: As day turns to night, the warm interior lighting and central fireplace create a welcoming, party-ready atmosphere for the first dance and full dance floor energy.

Relaxed Couple Portraits in the grounds

You don’t need to spend hours away from your guests to get stunning portraits at Syrencot. Everything is contained within a short walk:

  • The Historic Walled Garden: Featuring classic brickwork, climbing greenery, and winding paths right outside the Glasshouse.

  • The Georgian Manor Exterior & grounds: Provides a clean, timeless backdrop for quick family group shots or a quiet 10-minute walk together as newlyweds.
