Having photographed both smaller ceremony-only weddings and full-day 100+ guest celebrations here, I know how adaptable Cottesmore’s spaces are for different styles and sizes of weddings, and love how they all look in your photographs!
Outdoor Ceremonies in the Gardens: If you choose to say your vows outdoors, Cottesmore’s wooden pergola set against the tree-lined gardens offers a beautiful, open-air backdrop. The natural surrounding foliage creates soft, dappled light, allowing for clean, vibrant ceremony photos as you exchange vows in front of your guests.
Intimate Indoor Ceremonies: For smaller gatherings, the indoor ceremony spaces offer a warm, personal atmosphere. Large windows filter in soft, natural light, creating beautiful tones for vows and ring exchanges without needing intrusive flash.
Larger Full-Day Celebrations: For bigger weddings with around 100 guests, spaces like the Buchan Suite and Barn provide ample room. The wider layouts give plenty of space to capture your entrance, the aisle walk, and candid guest reactions from discreet angles.
Receptions, Speeches & Drinks on the Terrace
Following the ceremony, guests can flow out onto the brick courtyard terrace overlooking the surrounding grounds.
Candid Drinks Reception: The French style open outdoor patio is ideal for unposed, documentary coverage of your guests mingling, enjoying drinks, and celebrating in the sun.
Speeches & Evening Party in the Barn / Buchan Suite: The rustic wooden beams and high ceilings inside the reception rooms give speeches a warm, characterful backdrop. During the evening, the spacious layout leaves plenty of room for high-energy dance floor photos and a lively atmosphere.
